BLACK FRIDAY

I'm typically not into the whole crazy black friday shopping every year. We usually just go to walmart or target or something and get cheap movies and other random things. This year we went to old navy and I kinda went crazy.
I am obsessed with these boyfriend jeans. They are so comfortable. Lately I've just been wearing them with t shirts, but I want to find a top that I can wear for a little more dressy occasions.

This fall I've become obsessed with the color mustard. I got this sweater that has a boxy fit which I always like. I feel like I can wear this color with a lot of different things and add layers.
I also had to get this sweater with mustard color blocking. It has a little bit of a tighter fit, but it's still just as comfortable.

I also got this dark green cardigan. I really love this color green, but I don't have very many things in that color! I love wearing sweaters like this over t shirts or over a cute top.

This is probably the softest flannel ever. And it looks so cute with my black ripped jeans.

I also had to grab a pair of leggings because I'm a college student and I just can't wear jeans every day. I was surprised with the quality of these leggings and I'll definitely be buying mine from old navy from now on.

AUSTIN CITY LIMITS

Back at the beginning of the month, one of my roommates and I went to Austin City Limits. We had both never been before because it's so expensive but let me tell ya, it was worth every penny. Tons of our favorite bands were there and we got to be front row for a lot of them. It was definitely exhausting and hard to get myself out of bed by the third day, but we had the time of our lives!

DAY 1

When dressing for ACL you have to think casual. I tried not too worry too much about looking cute because you're outside in the heat all day long. Wearing a dress was a good idea and I love this button down from Madewell because it's short sleeved. Chacos were also a good idea. As long as you're good with having a Chaco tan to last the rest of the year.
DAY 2

hey Ryn Weaver

dress / flannel (last year urban outfitters)
I'm absolutely obsessed with the dress I wore this day. It was so lightweight and a little on the longer side so I was able to be comfortable in the heat and still dance like crazy to my favorite bands (aka Twenty One Pilots)
DAY 3

bralettte / shorts (similar worn unrolled) / buff

By the last day I had run out of "ACL outfits" to wear so I borrowed this shirt from my roommate who is in this picture. And also got super lazy with my hair and hadn't washed it all weekend so top knot was the way to go! It was super hot anyways! Oh and I can't forget to mention the Buff I'm wearing. If you're at all into outdoorsy things or are obsessed with headbands, get a Buff! They are the coolest things, you can wear them so many different ways! They have some that are strictly headbands but the one I'm wearing can be worn around your neck, as a beanie, and so many other ways it's so fun. (I have also used it as an eye mask which works really well haha)

I miss ACL sososo much and I hope next year's line up is at least half as good as this one was because it was a BLAST! If you ever get the chance to go DO IT! You won't regret it.

GAME DAY OUTFITS

I'm a little late on this, but I really want to start writing outfit posts for every football game this season. I rarely get any chances to dress up except for game days and it's so much fun to get creative with it! Since I'm just now starting this series, I don't actually have pictures that I took for this post so I just have some random pictures with my friends.

9/12 - UT vs. Rice
For the first game I wore this tie dye dress with turquoise earrings and cowboy boots. For my hair I lightly curled it and braided the front pieces back in a dutch braid.

9/19 - UT vs. California
It's been super hot here so for this game I wore a plain burnt orange tank top with distressed high waisted shorts and cowboy boots. I wore the same earrings again because turquoise always goes well with burnt orange. I get really annoyed with my hair during football games so this time I decided to part it down the middle and do two messy dutch braids.
9/26 - UT vs. OSU Parents Weekend
This last game was also parents weekend for KD! This was a blast because we played OSU and that's where my parents went. I'm a bad longhorn and also cheered for the cowboys... I wore this dress from altar'd state with my cowboy boots again of course. I layered my short KD circle of friendship necklace with my long rock necklace. I also wore turquoise earrings again except this time they are the Kendra Scott dangly earrings.

STRIPES

I've been doing so horrible at updating my blog lately, so here's an old post that I was planning on writing that just never really happened.

I went to dinner with one of my roommates (Madi who has a blog here) and my big. It was so nice to catch up with them because we hadn't seen each other all summer for some odd reason. It was funny because Madi and I basically showed up in the same outfit. That's what being roommates does to ya.

I decided to wear my gray striped shirt with neon yellow shorts to add a pop of color. I absolutely love stripes and I also love neon and they look so good together.

Later that night I went to hang out with some of my friends in the high school parking lot and wasn't gonna ride a ripstick like that. So I kept the shirt, threw on some patagonia shorts and I was good to go. I love those t shirts that are casual enough to wear with athletic shorts but could also be dressed up a little. I'm definitely on the hunt for more items like that.

CANCUN (VIDEO)

Woohoo! Two videos in one day! A couple weeks ago my parents and I went to Cancun, Mexico. It was absolutely beautiful. I didn't get a whole lot of footage so this video is shorter than usual but I captured some gorgeous views. Here ya go:

MYRTLE BEACH (VIDEO)

Before we went to camp, Maci and I went to Myrtle Beach for her brother's baseball tournament! Although, we didn't spend much time at the games oops. It was so much fun to be in South Carolina because that state has a special place in my heart (specifically Hilton Head Island). We had a blast and here's the video I made of the trip:

CAMP PIKE 2015 (VIDEO)

Hey guys! So I just got back from camp a week ago and it was amazing once again. This year I did something different and I made a video during counselor week and we showed it to the campers when they first arrived to get them pumped about camp. I love watching this video and reliving the memories and it makes me want to go back to camp so so bad.

FATHER'S DAY/NATIONAL WEAR YOUR LILLY DAY

Okay so I'm gonna try something a little different here today... You might be surprised because I rarely ever wear make up or dress cute but I'm actually super into fashion and beauty. Soooo with that being said I thought I would start incorporating posts like that in my blog. My favorite blogs are fashion/lifestyle blogs and they have inspired me to start this up so here goes nothin!

Today is National Wear Your Lilly Day because IT'S THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER! So naturally I had to wear my shorts. If you're looking for cute patterned shorts, these are definitely worth the splurge! I can see myself wearing these for a long time. The bright colors are perfect for summer and the scalloped edges make them that much cuter. I paired them with just a plain chambray shirt to keep the focus on the pattern of the shorts. And I just wore Birkenstocks because they're comfy and the neutral color goes with everything.

It's also Father's Day today! I went with my dad this morning to check out our contemporary service at church and then ate lunch at (of course) Local Diner. We also went over to play with the dogs that I'm taking care of for the week and we sat and enjoyed their backyard and this slightly cooler weather. Love ya, Dad! Hope you had a good Father's Day!

I'M BACK!

I kind of put the blog on hold for a while as I dealt with the craziness that is college. But the semester is over and IT'S SUMMER!!!

I can't wait to write about all the fun things that I will be doing this summer with my friends and family. At the end of June I'll be going to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina (the closest I'll get to Hilton Head this year :') ) and I'm going with one of my best friends, Maci! Then we will fly home just in time to hop on the bus for Camp Pike. I can't wait for camp this year because my cousin is going so I'll finally be able to share this experience with her and make her fall in love with the mountains haha. Soon after that my family is (hopefully) going to a beach in Mexico. We're still trying to plan it, but I'm dying to go!! I've never been and I hear it's awesome.

That's pretty much it as of now. Hopefully I'll have other little adventures to post about as well. I'm so excited for this summer and I can't wait to see what it has in store.

LENT

This year I'm treating lent a little differently than I usually do. Typically I'll give up Dr. Pepper or soda in general, which is pretty darn difficult. But this year I decided to really take lent seriously. Not only am I giving up social media (just twitter and instagram because I am addicted) but I'm also taking something on.

I downloaded the she reads truth app and have taken on a reading plan to read the whole bible in one year. So far I have read 5% of the bible woo! I always have a difficult time recognizing bible stories and reading the whole bible in general just sounds so awesome so I knew this was something I needed to take on. It also helps keep me accountable in reading the bible every day, which I am guilty of not doing a lot. (Side note, this app has the best phone wallpapers. I'm addicted to changing my wallpaper and these are perfect)

The next thing that I decided to take on, which won't last through all of lent, but is still a good idea is the minimalist challenge. I live for my iPhone calendar so each day I made an all day event with the title of the challenge for the day. I started on March 1st and so far so good. I have run into a few challenges that don't really apply to me, but that's okay.

I highly suggest trying any of these things! Just because lent has been going on for a while, doesn't mean that you can't start now! Also, let me know if you have any other suggestions of things to give up/take on.

Happy almost spring break!

Another side note, my MIS class is coming to good use with this whole blogging thing cause I definitely just edited the code a bunch for my blog to get these cool new fonts. Hope y'all like.

SEMESTER 2 OF 8

(wrote this a while ago and totally forgot to post it so here it is about a month late!)

Wow it has been a very long time since I have actually posted something on here. I haven't really had a lot of time to come up with a post (although I did have 5 weeks off for Christmas where I totally could've written something, oops). Those 5 weeks at home were so so so awesome. I was reunited with all of my best friends and hung out with them every chance I got.

I also went to Boulder, CO with my family and skied in the snow on Christmas Day!

Christmas break was full of relaxation and cuddle sessions with my pets, but now I'm back to reality. Coming back to school was really weird. Part of me felt like I had never left and the other part of me felt like I had never even had my first semester. After 2 weeks I feel like I'm finally getting back into the swing of things and I can already tell that this semester is going to be way better than the first.
Here are my new semester goals:

  • read my Bible more often even when I have tons of homework
  • stop waiting until the last minute to do my homework
  • get at least a 3.0 (that way my dad will let me get my cartilage pierced)
  • make lots of new friends (but don't forget about my 8 besties from home)
  • go on more "austiny" adventures
Happy spring semester everyone hope it's a good one!

HHI VIDEO UPDATE!!

After months and months of planning on doing this I FINALLY got my Hilton Head video to upload! I've been feeling super nostalgic for the beach lately because I'm getting very sick of this whole winter thing. Only about 131 more days until I'm out for summer!!!
