WE'RE GOING ON AN ADVENTURE

Yesterday started out as a very boring day spent mostly sleeping. The night before I had to babysit wayyyyy late and had to wake up early so I was running on 4 hours of sleep. After I took a long nap and accidentally skipped dance (oops) Shannon and I decided to go on an adventure. We have a huge park in our town that has little trails in the woods so we went on a little walk around there. It was super fun and we took a bunch of film of randomness and I compiled it all into this little video.
Here ya go!

Shannon should be making a video too with the same footage so be sure to check out her blog himynameisshan.blogspot.com to see that

OH HAPPY DAY

This past Saturday was probably one of the nicest days I have had in a long time. I went to dance in the early afternoon and then went on a bike ride with Maci. The weather was surprisingly very nice for the middle of January and was the perfect temperature to spend all day outside. We rode our bikes for about an hour before the sun set (I hate the early sunsets in winter, the days are so stinkin' short). But we went at the perfect time so we could see the sun starting to set over the pond in the park. It was so beautiful. Then we headed back to Maci's and took a trip to Starbucks and Chick-fil-A. Afterwards, we met up with Ali and Stacey to go the Mrs. Heidtke's prayer vigil. She has been very sick for a while so a bunch of people gathered in front of her home to pray over her. It was a really really great experience. A group of us were still hanging around and talking after everyone had left so we all went and ate at Cane's and then played Just Dance at Ali's. I love love love hanging out with these people because they make me laugh so hard that I'll cry and they just make me feel super happy. I'm so thankful for these great people that I've gotten close to this year.

This surprisingly turned out good considering I couldn't see anything and was biking with one hand

SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS AND STUFFED WITH FOOD

Tonight is just one of those nights that I am reminded of how much I love my friends. I am so thankful to have girls like these in my life and I would be totally lost without them.

In my town they are basically remodeling the old town area and adding a bunch of houses and restaurants and things like that. Recently they opened a new restaurant called Simmer so my friends and I thought it would be a good idea to try it. Before we went to dinner Maci, Shannon, Ali, and I all went to watch Maci's little brother play basketball (his team won yay!). It was so funny to watch all the little middle school girls and think back to our middle school days. After that we headed over to the restaurant for our reservation at 7:30 at the chef's table. That was pretty cool because we got to sit right outside the kitchen and watch all the food come out. Every so often someone would go oh my gosh! That looks so good! We all loved the place. Everything we ate was fantastic and it was so great to spend time with this group of girls.

I am so lucky to be blessed with such amazing friends and I love nights like these that bring us closer.

DANCE IS LIFE

Okay it's only January 7th and I've already gotten super bad about this picture a day thing. Oops. Well there's nothing really interesting to be taking pictures of anyways so I guess I just have to change that to I'm just going to be taking a whole lot more pictures this year than I usually do.

School has just barely started back up again and things are already getting crazy. Lariettes specifically. You want to know how many hours I danced today? 5 and a half. Contest season is right around the corner so we're really crammed for time and have to have extra practices to make up for it. But after today I am definitely super excited about our dances. We just finished learning lyrical and I'm obsessed. It's really challenging, but a lot of fun at the same time. There is no doubt I will be extremely sore tomorrow. Also, I am officially doing my first ever solo (Well if you don't count my sugar plum fairy solo that I performed for like 20 people at a time). So I'm getting really excited about that and can't wait to learn the choreography next week.

It's days like today that remind me why I love dance so much. I don't know what I'm going to do next year in college without drill team or my dance studio. Hopefully I can find a studio wherever I go because I can't imagine never dancing again. I don't want these next few months to be my last as a dancer.

I realized I never posted anything about getting to be the sugar plum fairy! It was a really small performance, but it was still really awesome getting to do that solo. Here's a picture from that of my teacher and I...

NEW YEAR

On December 31st everyone was tweeting about how great their 2013 was and how they made so many great memories and I tried to reflect on how it was for myself and I realized that I couldn't think of anything that really made me feel that 2013 was a great year. The end of 2013 took a turn for the worst and I have a hard time thinking of what positive things happened. I know there must have been a ton of great memories, but I couldn't get myself to think of them all. So I decided this year I need to do things differently. I'll try to post here more, take more pictures, and make use of the cute memory jar I made in order to better document the entire year. I wish I would have done that this past year because the bad things are currently overshadowing the good. But this year I'll be able to reflect all the way back to January 1st to the great memories I've made with my friends that will be able to put a smile on my face no matter what is going on at that time. This will all help in my overall goal of becoming happier and more care free. I've noticed that I always tend to admire those types of people who really enjoy life and have a positive outlook on everything and I want to try to implement that in my life as much as possible from now on. I'm trying to forget about the things that bring me down and leave them in the past. I want to live in the present and enjoy every minute of it. This is my senior year and I need to make the best of it because it'll be gone before I know it. And then by the end of the year I'll be in college and I'll need to keep a positive outlook in the midst of all that craziness.

I highly suggest doing these things especially the memory jar because it's already been a lot of fun to document the end of my Christmas break and I can't wait to read them all next year.
Oh! Also I totally forgot to mention that I'm trying to take at least one picture every day so here are the pictures from that so far...
